Boys' Cross Country Team at CCTS Wins
2014 NJ Technical Athletic Council Championship
Congratulations to Anthony Copestick, Head Boys Coach at Camden County Technical School and Head Girls Coach Andy Schafer and the Varsity Boys’ Cross Country Team at the Gloucester Township Campus for winning the New Jersey Technical Athletic Council Championship on October 27, 2014. This race was attended by all Vocational Technical Schools throughout NJ.
The team also won the NJ Technical Athletic Council South Jersey Invitational that was held at Westampton Technical School earlier in the season. This was the second consecutive year that the team won this invitational.
"We were happy winning the South Jersey title back-to-back for the first time in the school's history, but we knew the NJ Technical Council Championship was still ahead," said Coach Copestick. "We had a great chance of winning since we had a record where we had only lost one dual meet the entire season. We only celebrated our South Jersey Championship for a day and then got right to work preparing for the NJTAC meet. Coach Schafer explained to the team that in order to be successful at Holmdel, we would have to do a lot of hill work. Living in South Jersey, our runners had no idea about the hills they would face when we traveled north to Holmdel. The practices were long and hard, but it paid off when we won the championship."
The Championship team was led by Captain Jacob Gilbert, Seniors Trayvon Price and Daquan Lindsey and Freshmen, Nelson Aliciea and Alex Camacho.
